Ondara
Ondara is located on the northern Costa Blanca area of Spain. Ondara is set slightly inland from the coast.
To the south are the towns of Denia, Pedreguer, La Jara, Els Poblets and El Verger. To the north are Oliva and Gandia. Even further inland are the similar sized towns of Orba and Pego.
To get to Ondara you can either fly into Alicante airport or Valencia airport. Once at the airport you have a range of different airport transfer options to Ondara including private shuttle buses, taxis or Ondara car hire.
Ondara is a medium sized town mainly based around agriculture, in particular oranges and lemons. There is some tourism because of Ondara's close proximity to the coast and the thriving tourist town of Denia.
PORTAL DE LA MARINA ONDARA SHOPPING CENTRE
Ondara is now the location for the Portal de La Marina - this is a huge shopping centre similar to a shopping center in UK. With a cinema, supermarket and an array of shops.
EVENTS IN ONDARA
A medieval market is held every November. Bull Runs normally around June/July. Fiesta’s most of the year.
Marina in Denia is just a few kilometres away and has mooring with beautiful yachts and has the equipment to lift the larger yachts of 70ft which makes it a perfect place for the sea sportsman or woman. Around the marina is a variety of restaurants and most of them are open all year around. You can charter a yacht and book a fishing trip.
Beaches
The beaches are all BLUE FLAG which means they are safe to swim in. A variety of water sports in designated sections such as paddle surfing, kite surfing, surfing, kayaking, canoeing, and for the beach lover who likes peace and quiet there are literally kilometres of sand to sun bath on. Because of the length of the beaches in Denia they never get overcrowded. Popular family beaches with the European blue flag for quality and cleanness are Les Deveses Les Marines, Les Bovetes and Els Palmars. All patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months. These beaches are also equipped with foot showers, sunbeds and sunshades to hire.
Golf La Sella Golf Resort
Spanish world class golfer Jose Maria Olazabal designed La Sella close to La Jara, Jesus Pobre and Denia. Designed in 1990 it offers a demanding 18 hole golf course and a driving range with over 20 bays.
International School
An important part of permanent living in Spain with children, the Lady Elisabeth schools are very popular as they are international and have a very high success rate of passing exams. There is a coach that picks up children from various other towns and takes then to school
