Where are Adsubia and Forna?  

Adsubia (in Valencian , l' Atzúvia ) is a municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain . Located in the northeast of the province of Alicante, in the comarca of Marina Alta. It has 749 inhabitants ( INE 2012 ) .

How to get there?

From Alicante and Valencia Airports take the AP7 autopista and exit at junction 61. Follow signs for the N332 towards Alicante, passing through Oliva follow the CV715 towards Pego. On entering the outskirts of Pego follow signs for the CV700. This road will take you to Adsubia and then the CV717 to Forna.

History
Adsubia - Forna has Arab origins and many legacies of the Moorish population, although the earliest evidence of settlements dating back to the Bronze Age.

Forna adsubia and different nuclei were merged in 1911 . They are two very picturesque towns that have dramatic landscapes, and a rich heritage with Templar castle and cave Forna Canalobres equipped with recreational and camping area on the Llop Tossal , plus hiking trails.

The centre of Forna still has the original history, which keeps all the flavor of Moorish farmhouses , dominated by its medieval castle.

Predominantly agricultural (citrus ), construction and tourism.

Forna Castle . Declared a Cultural . Medieval Castle of the Military Order of the Templars , in an enviable state of preservation, located in the village of Forna , 5 km from Adsubia .

Canalobre Cave . Located in the Tossal of Llop .

Adsubia village lies just a few kilometres away from Pego. Adsubia has its own bars, restaurants, banks, bakers, chemist, tobacconist, mini supermarket, medical centre and butchers yet a few minutes’ drive away Pego which has the major supermarkets. The village is split into two with Les Bassettes urbanisation just nestled on the mountainside and the town is typically Spanish with tapas bars and restaurants, historical church and very quiet and peaceful in comparison to Pego which is very lively and always something going on. There is a municipal swimming pool open in the summer months to the general public, plenty of beautiful walks, cycling through the valleys, and just 15 minutes to the nearest beach in Oliva.

Beaches ,the nearest beaches are Oliva with beautiful white sand and an abundance of things to do such as wind surfing, kite boarding, paddle surfing or just lying on a sun lounger with a cold drink in the hand from one of the summer bars on the beach.

Golf, Oliva Nova Golf Course has 9 or 18 holes and you can choose which you wish to play, designed by world famous Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros. The course is next to the beach situated on a 5-star complex, there is a driving range, professional coaches for lessons for all abilities.

Schools as well as local schools in the village and the town of Pego, there are also two international schools nearby. The British School Gandia which offers the following:

Complete language immersion from Pre-Nursery to Year 13 (0 to 18 years of age)

Personal and individualized education, with continuous supervision and curricular adaptation to each pupil’s needs.

A comprehensive education which covers learning in all curricular and extra-curricular subject areas designed for artistic and physical development: judo, ballet, tennis, violin, etc.

Lady Elisabeth schools are very popular as they are international and have a very high success rate of passing exams. There is a coach that picks up children from various other towns and takes then to school. They have two schools, one in Javea and one in the Jalon Valley.

Fiestas
In Adsubia the festivities are the first week of September in honor of the Virgen del Rosario ( first Monday ) and Christ the Miracle ( first Tuesday ) .

In Forna, the festivities are the second fortnight of August, about August 20 , in honor of San Bernardo and San Antonio .

Both religious activities, popular festivals , Moors and Christians, and paella contest " Alfabegues " .
