How to get to Moraira? From Alicante and Valencia Airports by car take the AP7 autopista and exit junction 63 signposted, Benissa, Teulada and Gata de Gorgos. From this exit Moraira is signposted.

Is situated on the Costa Blanca North and is very popular with tourists.

About Moraira

The town is open all year with an abundance of shops, bars, restaurants and a very popular market.

The permanent population of Moraira in the northern Costa Blanca, Spain is around 10,000, although this rises to 36,000 in summer. There are a high proportion of expatriates living here on a permanent basis, and the area is very popular with affluent retirees. The majority of visitors to Moraira are Spanish, English, German, Dutch, Russian and French.

Moraira’s historic roots as a fishing village are still in evidence; its fish market is one of the most popular in the Costa Blanca region and the port has five fishing boats in operation. The Moraira region is also famous for the growing of muscatel grapes for wine-making.

However, the economy of Moraira is now built around tourism and Spanish property sales that have transformed the coastline over the past 30 years. Strict planning regulations have prevented over development and high rise buildings, making it a highly desirable destination. Little remains of the fishing cottages that once made up the little port that serviced the town of Teulada that stands at the head of the valley. To preserve the heritage of the area, the Teulada council passed laws protecting the abundant pine trees and limited the height of buildings. It has a privately owned marina built in 1985, operated by Club Náutico Moraira. Moraira is also seen as a culinary destination, with many restaurants. Moraira has three sandy beaches popular with families, and many rocky coves and inlets frequented by snorkelers and scuba divers.

El Portet is a very popular location for permanent living; the port area is picturesque with stunning views over the marina and port. Shops galore in the busy market streets and plenty of bars and restaurants to take in lunch before your siesta or for the other half to sit and watch the world go by whilst you are shopping!!

There are various urbanisations are located around the outskirts of Moraira with some properties having incredible views of the coastline down to Calpe and Benidorm. Dramatic landscape with restored castle turrets on the cliffs and stunning walks for the nature lovers.

Food

You will be spoilt for choice with fish restaurants, Indian, Indonesian Malaysian, French, Dutch, traditional Spanish and of course fish and chips.

Golf the nearest golf course is Ifach Golf Club well it is more than just a golf club it is a family club with tennis, 9 holes, 18 holes and you can buy shares and go for a relaxing swim after.

There are various golf courses in the region, Javea, La Sella near Denia, Oliva Nova, Calpe and many more up and down the coastline.

Go Karting is a great day out for the family, children and grandchildren.

Waterparks Benidorm has a huge water park with incredible water slides and vertical slides. Various friends have been with the family of all ages and they put this on the agenda once or twice a year.

Equestrian Centres various horse riding centres are around Benissa, Calpe, Altea and Moraira. Different stables offer different facilities, jumping, hacks, dressage and for all abilities.

Beaches

A wide variety of water sports including, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet skiing, sailing, kayaking and much more. Or if you prefer a relaxing time to just soak up the sunshine then there are plenty of places to enjoy a relaxing time.

A choice of Boat excursions is available on the comfortable Catamaran or Coastal Cruiser, including Sunset Cruises, Swimming Trips and Catamaran / Jet Ski excursions.

Sailing School

The Sailing School of the Nautical club of Moraira is situated in an unbeatable location in the bay of Moraira, it has first class installations and is fully equipped, with a highly trained and enthusiastic team.
