Bellreguard is in two main areas, the town and the beach. From the town to the beach is about 3km and is ideal for cyclists as the road is fairly level.

The town has all you would need for day to day living, supermarkets, banks, restaurants, coffee shops, hairdressers, garage mechanics and much more.

The nearest train station is located in Gandia town. Gandia runs a daily service to Valencia.

Sports Facilities

Bellreguard have a great number of public facilities to practice sports: football, basketball, tennis, fronton, swimming, volleyball, petanque, surf and many more. During the summer, right on the beach, we can enjoy daily sessions of gymnastics for all types of public, as well as the typical Brazilian dance “batuka” three times a week.

Moreover, there are volleyball, basketball and football tournaments, and even competitions of chess. There are a great amount of rural paths that allow the visitors to do footing or cycling, while enjoying the beautiful view of the typical Mediterranean orange trees.

The bike lane is constructed where the old train lane used to be and connects Gandia with Oliva going through the very heart of Bellreguard only a few meters of the center of the village.

Beaches

Bellreguard has a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear waters, and 800 meters of coast. The beach of Bellreguard has been honoured with the blue flag for five consecutive years; this distinction is given to the beaches that work hard to get a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

There are small showers to clean your feet and toilets free of charge. In addition the beach is cleaned every day.

The beach has ramps and gateways to facilitate access to those with reduced mobility. In addition, during the summer, there is a bathroom service completely adapted for people with reduced mobility, so they can enjoy the beach as everybody else.

Fiestas

ST. MIQUEL’S FEAST DAY
The local festivals in honour of the patron saint of Bellreguard, San Miquel, begin towards the end of September.

Every day during the festival Bellreguard celebrate something different, a day just for the pensioners and retired people, a special day for San Miquel (saint patron of Bellreguard), “Fiesta del Santísmo Cristo de la Misericordia”, Youth Day, “fiesta de los Santos de la piedra” and of course the famous “Moros y Cristianos” (Moorish and Christians battle).

There are different activities all day for both locals and visitors and also a great band in the evening.

There are traditional events such as concerts of "Dolçainers i Tabaleters”, music bands concerts, street parades, dinners on the street, ”despertas” waking processions in honour of the saint patron, sport competitions, etc. Also something very typical in every village of Valencia are the fireworks that take place in the evening right after the Holy processions.

The Moors and Christians are one of the typical festivals in Valencia and all around the autonomous region. The festivals commemorate the battles, combats and fights between Moors (or Muslims) and Christians during the period known as “Reconquista” (from the 8th century through the 15th century).

Education

There are local public schools for the infants & primary age children.

There is also a private music school, where people of all ages can learn to play musical instruments.
