El Verger

El Verger this is a coastal town a few kilometres from Denia.

How to get there?

From Alicante or Valencia airports follow the AP7 motorway/autopista to Junction 62. It will be around 1 hour by car.

Public transport is accessible Alsa is the main bus company and Beniconect is a smaller personal company.

El Verger is a beautiful self-sufficient town with bars, shops, restaurants and just a few kilometres to the stunning beaches.

Beaches

The beaches are all BLUE FLAG which means they are safe to swim in. A variety of water sports in designated sections such as paddle surfing, kite surfing, surfing, kayaking, canoeing, and for the beach lover who likes peace and quiet there are literally kilometres of sand to sun bath on.

La Sella Golf Course The situation of the golf course is at the foot of the Montgo National Park and Mountain; the views are breath-taking from the course with Mediterranean SEA one way and the National park the other.

The course is rated to a high standard with quality certificates and environment standards.

With 27 holes in total designed with three different names all based on types of wind.

Oliva Nova Golf Course has 9 or 18 holes and you can choose which you wish to play, designed by world famous Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros. The course is next to the beach situated on a 5 star complex, there is a driving range, professional coaches for lessons for all abilities.

Equestrian Centre Oliva Nova has the world’s best riders will gather in the Equestrian Centre Oliva Nova. The MET 2014 will count on the representation of riders from Germany, France, Spain, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, USA, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Malaysia, Chile, South Africa and Switzerland, amongst others. All together about 350 male and female riders from 44 countries and five continents as well as a total of more than 2,000 horses from the world’s best stables will participate in an intense schedule of international competitions in Show Jumping and Young Horses.

Walking, Hiking and cycling the winter months here in Spain are ideal for these activities as the weather is beautiful temperatures can still be in the early 20’s during the sunny days and we do get a lot of those. Castle walks, hiking groups, and cycle routes the area is very popular for these activities. There is a group called the U3A that have these groups look at their website and become a member for just a few euros a year.

Fiesta’s

El Verger has all the traditional fiesta’s such as bull running, moors and Christians, burning of the faellas and much more, just visit the tourist information centre to get more information.

International School

An important part of permanent living in Spain with children, the Lady Elisabeth schools are very popular as they are international and have a very high success rate of passing exams. There is a coach that picks up children from various other towns and takes then to school.

PORTAL DE LA MARINA ONDARA SHOPPING CENTRE

Ondara is now the location for the Portal de La Marina - this is a huge shopping centre similar to a shopping centres in the UK 

 

Restaurants the most famous in El Verger is Restaurant B.B, they serve chicken that has been cooked on the spit succulent food at a reasonable price.

Then there is a WOK buffet an eat as much as you like, popular with the ex pats.

An alternative is in the town where you can get traditional tapas menus. You might even see Juan the local knife sharpener on his bicycle!
