Llosa de Camancho/ Llosa de Camatxo (Valenciano)

Where is Llosa de Camancho? This beautiful small town (village) is located a few kilometres from Pedreguer town and 14 kilometres from Denia.

From Alicante and Valencia Airports travelling by car is around 1 hour. Follow the AP7 Motorway and exit junction 62. Follow signs for the N332 towards Alicante first exit signposted Denia/Pedreguer. Take the CV724 towards Pedreguer and when you approach a very small roundabout turn right onto the CV720. When on the CV720 the first town (village) you come to is Llosa De Camancho.

The centre of Llosa De Camancho has a beautiful church called Iglesia de los Santos Reyes (church of the holy Kings) dates back to the year 1272, however over the years it has been refurbished and plays the centre role in the community.

With pretty gardens in front of the church with a few bars and restaurants the main square closes for fiesta’s where the locals sit out with their families and enjoy various activities put on by the town hall.

The history of Llosa De Camancho.  Losa is a small area in Alcalali and this was then owned by the Camancho Family in the 17th Century therefore they changed the name to Llosa De Camancho.

Main Tapas bar in Llosa de Camancho is Bar Emilio, they cater for everyone, even if you are looking for somewhere to stay the night they have rooms for rent. Bar Emilio is a family run bar with entertainment on a Friday night Jazz, rock, Irish and much more. Tapas is excellent and a very good selection to choose from.

Within the town there is a veterinary clinic, honey shop, town hall, bus stop to Denia and Jalon, Tapas bar, the nearest town with more facilities is Pedreguer which is just 4km away.

International School

An important part of permanent living in Spain with children, the Lady Elisabeth schools are very popular as they are international and have a very high success rate of passing exams. There is a coach that picks up children from various other towns and takes then to school.

La Sella Golf Course

The situation of the golf course is at the foot of the Montgo National Park and Mountain; the views are breath-taking from the course with Mediterranean SEA one way and the National park the other.

The course is rated to a high standard with quality certificates and environment standards.

With 27 holes in total designed with three different names all based on types of wind.

Hiking Trails: Alcalalí municipality is crossed by many rural roads surrounded by almond and orange trees, which is a pleasure to walk. During the month of February, during the almond florida, our roads fill with a coming and going of walkers.

You can meet the municipality of Alcalalí performing hiking route - Coll de Rates.

This tour is a great way to approach the cultural and landscape heritage of the town and valley. It is estimated that can be covered in approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes and the difficulty level is medium - low.

Another proposed route that lets Delve into our history and heritage is the "Rock and Water" route. Its path runs along the bed of the river Gorgos, a site of Community importance (SCI) and links the towns of Valley Pop from Benissa to Benigembla. This route adds value and hydraulic architectural heritage of our peoples and offers visitors unique landscapes.

In Alcalalí, you can start this route in the Mirador del Terrer both meaning and direction Parcent Jalon. The 19.5 km route can be covered in an estimated 5 hours and 50 minutes and has a very low level of difficulty time.

Cycling, both the mountain and the road is a very popular activity. It is common to find the roads around Alcalalí with groups of cyclists.

The municipality has three mountain bike routes and properly signalizes different intensity.

Different routes are suitable for both beginners and experts and their journey to find out the scenic treasures of our territory.

At the entrance to the municipality an information panel is located and routes is at this point where the three routes start, all circular in nature.

Fiestas are friendly and fun for all the family. There are numerous throught the year including a water fiesta, blessing of the animals, 3 Kings and many more.

 

Nearest Beaches

The nearest beaches are in Denia, Les Marines here you will find an abundance of things to do, white sand sun drenched with very few tourists. Miles of sand stretch from Denia to Gandia. Just 15 minutes by car.

Water sports are in designated areas along the beach, kite surfing, paddle surfing and if you fancy the jump on the banana boat for a high speed jet across the blue waters.
